Simple Ledger · Terms of Use (End-User License Agreement)

Welcome to Simple Ledger. These Terms of Use (“Agreement”) are a legal agreement between you and the independent developer of Simple Ledger (“the App”) concerning your download, installation, and use of the App. By downloading or using the App you confirm that you have read and agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. License Scope

The App grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable limited license to use the App on Apple devices that comply with the App Store Terms of Service, for personal non-commercial purposes only.

This license does not include the right to:

  • Copy, modify, decompile, or reverse-engineer the App
  • Sell, rent, lend, or redistribute the App
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notice in the App

2. Subscriptions and Payment

The App offers the following in-app purchases:

  • Monthly Pro subscription: auto-renewing monthly; price shown in App Store at purchase.
  • Yearly Pro subscription: auto-renewing annually; price shown in App Store at purchase.
  • Lifetime unlock: one-time payment, permanently unlocks Pro features.

Auto-renewal terms:

  • A subscription renews automatically 24 hours before the current period ends, at the same price.
  • To cancel, turn off auto-renewal in System Settings → (your) Apple ID → Subscriptions at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • After cancellation you retain Pro features until the end of the current period.

Refunds: all refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple. Please submit refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com. The developer does not directly issue refunds.

3. AI Financial Advisor

The “AI Financial Advisor” is an optional feature, off by default. Before you enable it we display a consent prompt explaining the data flow. Once you explicitly enable it and configure an OpenAI-compatible endpoint:

  • You acknowledge and agree that the App will send the financial summary you select over HTTPS to the endpoint you supply yourself.
  • Your relationship with that endpoint (including fees, content moderation, data-retention policy) is between you and the provider. The App does not participate.
  • You may turn the feature off at any time in Settings → AI Financial Advisor, after which no AI-related network request is made.

4. User Data and Account Deletion

  • You retain full ownership of all data you enter or import into the App.
  • You may export or delete data at any time via Settings → Data Management.
  • You may fully erase the App’s local data, and trigger cleanup of the App’s records in your iCloud private database, via Settings → Delete Account. This action is irreversible. Please export anything you wish to retain before proceeding.
  • Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Apple subscription. If a subscription is still active, please cancel it in System Settings, otherwise it will continue to be billed each period.

5. Disclaimer

  • Statistics, budgets, and AI suggestions in the App are for your personal reference only and do not constitute investment, tax, or legal advice.
  • The App is provided “as is” without warranty that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet all your expectations.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

6. Intellectual Property

The App and all its source code, design, icons, and textual content are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. No ownership of any of the foregoing is granted to you. “Simple Ledger” as an application name is reserved by the developer.

7. Termination

If you violate this Agreement, the App may immediately terminate your license. You may terminate this Agreement at any time by uninstalling the App. § 4 (deletion of data) survives termination.

8. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by and construed under the laws of the mainland of the People’s Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan).

If you use the App outside mainland China, this Agreement is additionally subject to mandatory laws of your jurisdiction (such as the GDPR, CCPA).

9. Changes

We may update this Agreement. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or app update. Your continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
